Some roads and trails closed in Rockingham County VA and Pendleton County WV
Some National Forest system roads and trails will be intermittently closed over the next several months as the 500 kilovolt electricity transmission line running through Rockingham County, Va and Pendleton County, WVa. is being rebuilt. Roads and trails will close during road maintenance, tree felling operations, and new tower construction. Road closure on Jordan Run Road (FSR 358) Hot Springs, VA
Hot Springs, VA. 09.16.2021—The George Washington & Jefferson National Forests will begin culvert replacement and road reconditioning work on Jordan Run Road %3AFSR 358%3A beginning September 20, 2021. Jordan Run Road will be closed at its intersection with Mountain Valley Road %3ASR 39%3A through mid-October. All foot and motor vehicle access will be closed along the road corridor during construction activities. Please note that annual forest road maintenance activities, including road grading, ditching, and culvert cleanout work, will occur at different locations across the James River and Warm Springs Ranger Districts beginning this fall. When approaching road maintenance crews, please slow down and drive with extreme care. In coordination with state and local health and safety guidelines, National Forests remain open; however, services at our facilities may be changed, suspended or offered through alternate approaches as we manage for the health and safety of our work force and the public.
